girl sees course. girl covets course. after 3 years, girl finally applies for course, with quiet hopes but few expectations. girl gets accepted into course; freaks out. girl moves to new york for 2 years. hilarity ensues.

i’ve been blogging for the last 5 years or so, here. the ways i’ve used and come to view blogs has shifted since i first started engaging with this space, and i figured starting a new phase of my life in a new country would be a good opportunity to experiment with this space in different ways.

like the last blog, this is less like a confessional and more like a stage. it is not a diary; it is a performance of variations and constructs of self. events and other people will be factually represented, but emotions and sentiments as expressed by me should be taken by you, dear reader, with a good pinch of salt. that being said, please come in and play.

what kind of a blog name is “apples, bagels and soup”?

the first time i visited new york was the winter of 2002. i was a uni student at the time, and being lean of purse and vegetarian of stomach, apples, bagels and soup were pretty much all i ate! let’s see if i can do better this time around. suggestions of places where i might eat well and affordably are most welcome..!
